Hollow Hounds' is being presented as part of group exhibition Shake It Up in the Nishi Gallery, curated by Professor David Williams AM and Anna Trundle.Growing up on a rural property, Sian Watson experienced first-hand the effects of the elements on the landscape and the continual cycle of life and death. These familiarities have developed into recurring themes within her work, incorporating processes such as decomposition, repetition and the placement of familiar animals within the human landscape. Sian infuses a semblance of life into her exaggerated and emaciated sculptural works, allowing them to embody a captured moment in time, looking to evoke a visceral reaction.
