ABOUT THE PROJECT

The Canberra Symphony Orchestra presents a unique concert presentation on how climate change can be represented through music.

Science and Music departments at the University of Minnesota grappled with how climate change might sound, and produced both a work for solo cello; A Song Of Our Warming Planets, and a piece for String Quartet; Planetary Bands, Warming World, in which scientific data on rising temperatures is represented by musical pitch.  These pieces will be matched with a work by Ross Edwards, whose work is intricately linked with the fragile Australian ecosystem.

Tim Wickham & Erin Patrick (violins), Iska Sampson (viola) and Sam Payne (cello) from the Canberra Symphony Orchestra will be joined by Bori Cser, musician and science explainer extraordinaire.
