LAY OF THE LAND
Film / Moving Image
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Lay of the Land is a vibrant, colourful, and dynamic video work that turns the surface of the land into a giant flatbed scanner using drone footage celebrating the landscape of Canberra and the surrounding region. Stitching together different textures and locations, the work provides a unique visualisation of the landscape data that surrounds us. Lay of the Land provokes questions around how we perceive/interact with the landscapes, and how human development effects and changes them.
Josh's work will be exhibited throughout and beyond this year's festival showing 24 hours a day in a special, public gallery context.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Josh is an emerging video artist based in Canberra, Australia.
His central practice is focused on producing mood-driven audiovisual work that challenges the viewer to re-evaluate their relationship with their senses. Much of Josh's work employs video as a medium for sequencing and sampling, as well as the recording, illustration, and deconstruction of time and space.
LAY OF THE LAND promises to be a deeply vivid, immersive and captivating piece.
