A Twentieth Century Woman
ABOUT THE PROJECT
A Twentieth Century Woman explores the themes of conservation, preservation and remembrance. By using the photographic image in conjunction with segmented audio the artist was able to successfully create a multimedia series that not only investigated the cognitive memories of elderly women, seventy-five years and over but documented their individual experiences for future posterity.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Graduating from the Australian National University with a first class honours Canberran artist, Holly Murney has spent the last several years fine-tuning her skills in the field of documentary photography. Throughout her education, Murney worked to create a niche that allowed her to combine her love for history with her artistic medium. Her current series, “A Twentieth Century Woman” is a testament to those passions and successfully demonstrates the power of individual memory and preservational art.
