Michael Sollis and Thea Rossen

The Milk Carton Confessions

Multi-disciplinary, Music, Performance Art

ABOUT THE PROJECT

A revealing exploration of culture, consumerism and recycling. What’s your relationship to the world, and it’s cycle of birth, death and rebirth? Is recycling a modern-day ritual? What happens after we put something in the recycling bin? This dynamic solo percussion by Thea Rossen and written by Michael Sollis integrates live music, audience interaction and film with unique perspectives about recycling from a diverse group of Canberrans. Thea makes music out of cartons, trash cans, bottles, balloons and newspaper suits as she explores the sounds of the ocean, consumption, guilt and confession, and the cyclic nature of the world.
