Interactive Installations

Interstrung’ is an interactive installation that looks at the interconnectedness of people, their travels, their connection to place and how this aligns with string theory.

In a world of fragmentation and disconnection, we are faced with big questions about the fate of our planet. We are faced with problems with complex solutions. Problems that cannot be solved alone. ‘Interstrung’ gives us a big picture focus because we’re not consumed by little picture noise. It encourages us to work together to move forwards in making Earth a place where we are truly at home.

Born and raised in Melbourne, Stefanie quickly developed a love of performing at a young age. After training and performing with the Victorian Youth Theatre for several years, she played in Greek theatre in Melbourne, and was a part of Cornell University’s Skits-O-Phrenics sketch comedy group in New York. Stefanie’s move to Canberra saw her undergo further training with Canberra Youth Theatre, with subsequent performances including the award-winning SKIN (2015), Antigone (2016) and poem every day (2017). Stefanie’s other theatre credits include Four Day Oedipus (2015), a moved reading part of The Public Theatre; playing the dual role of Belinda/Flavia in the British farce Noises Off (2016) with Canberra Rep; the Short and Sweet shows I Love Lucy (2018) and Dreamland (2019); playing Angela, a 1970s parliamentary hairdresser in We, The People (2019) at Old Parliament House; directing The Conversation Game (2019), an interactive theatre piece created with 7 – 12 year olds; and playing Greta in Metamorphosis (2019) at The Street Theatre. Stefanie’s interest in the interconnectedness of people, chance encounters and the meaning of “home”, along with her love of travel and the learning of new things have brought her to her latest artistic endeavor. While predominantly a performer and at times director, the search for new artistic challenges has led Stefanie to her first foray into interactive installations.
