Emeritus Professor David Williams AM, is Humanities Research Centre Adjunct Professor in the ANU Research School of Humanities and the Arts. Previously Director of the Australia Council Crafts Board (1976-85) and Director, ANU School of Art (1985 – 2006), his research interests are in jewellery, sculpture, public art and contemporary Asian and Australian art. His curatorial activities include the first three Queensland Art Gallery’s Asia Pacific Triennial exhibitions as a member of the National Advisory Committee, the Adelaide University Ballets Russes project exhibitions and with Dr. Caroline Turner, HRC exhibitions Recovering Lives, Thresholds of Tolerance and in June 2015 , Making Connections: Southeast Asian Art @ANU.
He is the immediate past Chair, Art Monthly Australia Board and was Deputy Chair, Canberra Glassworks Board.
